A Social Group for 6-9 year olds needing support with Executive Functioning and Peer Interaction skills. Research has shown that lego building has helped children with ADHD, ADD, Autism and Executive Functioning Deficits makes gains with attention, flexibility and persistence with tasks.
Lego Builders will build on the concepts of Lego Therapy by having the children set rules and assign roles for the group’s building of a structure each week. Led by two Special Educators and Developmental Therapists, the group will work on collaborative problem solving, pragmatic language, joint attention, sequencing, and short-term and long-term planning.
The 6 week session will culminate with an evening Lego Exhibit at the clinic, complete with children presenting their structures completed throughout the course of the group.
Enrollment in this group is currently open and the group runs for 6 weeks beginning on 9/11/17. 6 child maximum enrollment. Cost is $500.
